BEST MEAL OF THE TRIP!!!
Today was triumphant. We had the very most decadent meal. It was perfect. Each and every dish.
We drove out to Noordhoek with our friend Charlene to eat at The Foodbarn. It is an ADORABLE town that is home to my new favorite restaurant in South Africa. Bold but true statement.
We ordered three starter dishes. OMG.
Tempura prawns served on confit tomato, aubergine and avo tian, finished with chili & red pepper syrup.
Mussel fritters with Thai rice noodles and a lemongrass & galangal cream.
Mushroom and ricotta ravioli, served with tender leaves, finished with fontina and black truffle sauce.
Some of our mains. KILLER.
Grilled sustainable fish, puff pastry case, baby spinach, confit tomatoes, shellfish and saffron velouté.
Pumpkin & celeriac risotto, tender leaves & toasted nuts with sautéed prawns.
Roasted Lamb rack, tomato & pecorino quiche, wild rocket and truffle scented jus.
And dessert. DessertS rather.
Strawberry cheesecake, vanilla pod ice cream & rhubarb panna cotta.
Churros, coconut custard tart "brûlée", cinnamon ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Trio of homemade sorbets.

Harbor House
It was raining, windy, cold, and the kids were hungry. So.... We went to the nicest resto we could find! #fancypants
Leo and his sushi roll. He is also very proud of his gems he found at the scratch patch!
Yellowtail tartar. YES.
Temping through Cape Town.
A few years ago, my friends and I were nicknamed "Templetons" after Templeton the rat from Charlotte's Web. Temp loves a smorgasbord!!!
Biltong and olives. Salt fest. The best.
